Position Details Position Information Posting Number AS550P Position Title PT Accounting Specialist III Contract Length N/A Class Summary Provides a variety of routine accounting office support to various College offices. May perform general office support duties including data entry, refunding, and invoicing as assigned. Candidates Eligible to Apply Internal/External Position Type Non-Exempt Staff Employment Status Part Time Position Funding Type Regular Posting Detail Information Minimum Education/Training/Experience High school diploma required: 1-2 years of office experience including direct experience with accounting and bookkeeping required. Preferred Education/Training/Experience Associate's degree: accounts receivable experience with a governmental entity or community college preferred. Minimum Knowledge & Skills Business Arithmetic Basic practices of reviewing financial documents for completeness and accuracy Basic office practices and procedures Basic record keeping practices Basic computer applications related to the work Performing detailed office support work Maintaining accurate records of work performed Operating standard office equipment Reading and explaining rules, policies and procedures Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction Preferred Knowledge & Skills none Licensing/Certification Requirements none Job Duties 1. Process all student billing with accuracy. 2. Prepare daily bank deposits 3. Process state tuition exemptions/waivers in a timely fashion. 4. Assess Collegiate High School/dual credit student registration for accuracy. 5. Process all contract and third-party sponsorship billing, payment, and reconciliation. 6. Process and disburse refunds for tuition and fees, and financial aid in accordance with the college policy, state and federal regulations. 7. Assist students and/or cashiers that are working with students to resolve problems and/or provide explanations for their tuition and fee billing statements. 8. Execute tasks for student online payment plan maintenance on an as needed/backup basis. 9. Work closely with Assistant Controller to ensure unpaid invoices are collected in a timely fashion. 10. Respond to AR emails, voicemails, and phones calls. 11. Perform other duties of a similar nature or level Physical Requirements No or very limited physical effort required. No or very limited exposure to physical risk. •Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
