Responsibilities Review and process medical claims accuracy and compliance. Follow up on unpaid or delayed claims through effective medical collection strategies, including contacting insurance companies and patients. Verify medical records, bills, and documentation to support claims submissions and resolve discrepancies promptly. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to input, update, and retrieve patient information accurately. Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure proper documentation of medical procedures, diagnoses, and billing codes. Maintain detailed records of billing activities, payment histories, and collection efforts for audit readiness. Stay current with updates in medical coding guidelines, including changes in ICD coding standards and reimbursement policies. Qualifications Proven experience in medical billing or accounts receivable within a healthcare setting. Experience working with EMR or EHR systems for billing and recordkeeping. Excellent communication skills for effective follow-up with insurance providers and patients. Ability to interpret complex medical documentation accurately and apply appropriate coding standards.
