This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with dealership accounting processes, including accounts payable, vehicle billing, journal entries, check processing, and titling support. The ideal candidate will have prior dealership experience and be familiar with the fast-paced environment of automotive retail operations. Responsibilities Process and maintain accounts payable transactions. Verify invoices and ensure timely payment of vendors. Prepare and issue customer and intercompany billing. Post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger records. Prepare and process check runs. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies. Assist with month-end closing procedures. Support vehicle titling and registration processes. Maintain accounting files and records in accordance with dealership policies. Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal departments regarding accounting matters. Work closely with sales, F&I, service, and management teams to ensure accurate accounting of dealership transactions. Assist with manufacturer receivables, payoffs, and other dealership accounting functions as needed. Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous automotive dealership accounting experience preferred. Understanding of dealership accounting procedures and accounting office workflows. Experience with accounts payable, billing, journal entries, and check processing. Knowledge of vehicle titling and registration requirements preferred. Familiarity with dealership management systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, etc.) is a plus. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced dealership environment. Professional communication and teamwork skills.
