If so, the Prince William County Department of Development Services has a great opportunity for you within the Zoning Administration Division! We are looking to welcome a hands-on, service-oriented colleague to join our team of professionals.
About This Role:
The selected individual will perform a wide variety of fiscal duties in a highly efficient and timely manner associated with the proffer administration work program within the Zoning Administration Division. These duties include maintaining an automated database for monetary contributions and accounts payable, providing reconciliation, reconciling daily receipts, preparing reports, and researching discrepancies. This position will also serve as the backup accounts payable specialist for the division. The position requires strong data entry and accounting skills, as well as knowledge of accounting software. This selected candidate will be highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to interpret and apply financial policies and meet deadlines. The selected candidate will also be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The ability to maintain well-kept and audit-ready files is extremely important in this position. The selected candidate will also be able to analyze a requested need, conduct necessary research, and formulate a conclusion/solution using the available systems.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or G.E.D. and 3 years of related experience
Preferences:
Strong accounting/database administration/data entry experience Ability to interpret and apply policies Ability to maintain excellent recordsand have outstanding organizational skills Ability to meet due dates in a fast-paced environment Exceptional customer service skills in dealing with the public, co-workers, applicants, and other county agencies Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Strong attention to detail and ability to meet due dates Strong skills with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software/programs Preferred candidates will demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with a team while working independently. Preferred candidates will be self-motivated and highly responsible.
Work Schedule:
Full-Time 37.5 Hours per week (Monday-Friday). This is a telework-eligible position after completing on-the-job training, which may revert to in-office scheduling if business needs change.
Starting Salary Range :
