As an Accounting Clerk, you'll support the accounting department while becoming a subject-matter expert in DMV processes — a valuable skill set within automotive accounting. Role Purpose Support the accounting team with daily operations and assist with accounting overflow while ensuring all DMV-related paperwork and reporting is accurate, compliant, and completed on time. What You'll Do Prepare and submit DMV paperwork in accordance with state rules and deadlines Assist with deal breakdowns and prepare contracts for finance sources Coordinate lien payoffs and reconcile lien schedules Process daily accounting reports, including online motor vehicle submissions Reconcile DMV registration schedules and process customer refunds (with approval) Follow up on missing used vehicle titles Assist with quarterly audits (K-208s, used titles, certificates of origin, dealer plates) Reconcile general ledger accounts, including vehicle receivables, DMV, and lien payoffs Support additional accounting tasks as needed by management Follow Hoffman Auto Group policies and privacy standards Qualifications What We're Looking For High School Diploma required Basic bookkeeping knowledge and comfort using Excel Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Clear communicator who works well in a team environment Dependable, professional, and deadline-focused Automotive or dealership experience is helpful, but not required Why Hoffman Auto Group Stable, family-owned organization with a strong reputation Supportive leadership and team-first culture Hands-on learning and long-term career opportunities Training provided for DMV processes and systems
