Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as an Assistant Bookkeeper and become a vital part of our financial operations! This role offers an exciting opportunity to support the accounting department by managing essential bookkeeping tasks, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining financial records. You'll work closely with senior accountants and finance professionals to uphold the integrity of our financial data, contributing to the overall success of our organization. Responsibilities Assist in maintaining accurate general ledger accounting by preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts. Support accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment tracking. Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to ensure consistency across financial statements. Help with balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation to maintain precise financial records. Enter data accurately into various accounting software platforms such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Support payroll processing, tax filings, and other governmental accounting requirements as needed. Skills Proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms. Strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and journal entries. Knowledge of financial concepts such as balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, and account reconciliation. Experience with bank reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable management, and general ledger accounting. Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and tax experience is a plus. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for account analysis and financial report writing.
