Job Description

The Company Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the company's financial operations run smoothly. This includes managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, processing payroll, preparing financial reports, and assisting with budgeting and tax preparation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and proficient in accounting software and principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily/Weekly Tasks:
Record day-to-day financial transactions (e.g., sales, receipts, invoices). Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts. Manage accounts payable and receivable, issue and track invoices. Process payments, receipts, and bank deposits. Reconcile bank, credit card, and vendor statements.
Monthly/Quarterly Tasks:
Prepare monthly financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow reports. Process and reconcile payroll in coordination with administration. File and remit state and local taxes (sales, use, etc.) and other financial obligations. Support month-end and year-end close processes.
Annual Tasks:
Assist with preparation of documentation for annual audits and tax filing. Collaborate with external accountants or CPAs during tax season. Participate in annual budgeting and forecasting activities.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain organized financial records (digital and paper). Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies. Suggest and implement process improvements for better efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting role. Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar) required.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles. High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer literacy. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
Pay:
$21.00 - $29.00 per hour
