The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting principles and practices, with proficiency in various accounting software. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. The Senior Bookkeeper will work closely with management to provide insights into financial performance and assist in budgeting and forecasting. This is a big job to start - and we're looking for someone with experience in bookkeeping and money controlling for construction companies Duties Manage all aspects of bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliation. Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Perform general ledger accounting tasks, including journal entries and account reconciliations. Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant financial regulations. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms for efficient record-keeping. Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly. Assist in budget preparation and monitoring financial performance against budgeted figures. Provide tax-related support and ensure timely filing of necessary documents. Collaborate with external auditors during audits to provide required documentation and explanations. Stay updated on financial concepts and changes in accounting standards to ensure best practices are followed. Requirements 3+ Years as a Bookkeeper for Construction companies Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role within corporate or non-profit accounting environments. Strong knowledge of accounting principles including double-entry bookkeeping and GAAP standards. Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, Xero, or other relevant tools. Excellent understanding of financial concepts including balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, debits & credits, and account reconciliation. Experience with financial report writing and analysis. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry (10 key typing). Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while meeting deadlines. Familiarity with governmental accounting practices is a plus. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and management.
