Job Description
Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our finance team. This role is essential in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and a solid understanding of general ledger accounting principles. Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable transactions, including verifying invoices, obtaining approvals, and scheduling payments.
- Manage accounts receivable functions, including invoicing customers, tracking payments, and reconciling accounts.
- Perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Maintain the general ledger by recording transactions accurately and timely.
- Utilize accounting software to manage financial data efficiently.
- Assist with month-end closing activities and prepare necessary reports.
- Collaborate with human resources to ensure accurate payroll processing using systems like Paychex or ADP.
- Ensure compliance with SOX regulations and internal controls during all financial processes.
- Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement. Qualifications
- Experience in public accounting is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in accounting software is essential for managing financial transactions effectively.
- Strong 10 key typing skills for efficient data entry.
- Familiarity with human resources processes is a plus.
- Knowledge of account reconciliation techniques and general ledger accounting principles is required.
- Experience with Paychex or ADP payroll systems is advantageous.
- Understanding of SOX compliance requirements is beneficial.
- Excellent analytical skills to assess financial data accurately and provide insights.
