Job Description

Broker in Charge (BIC) — Birch & Beam Realty Birch & Beam Realty is looking for an experienced, established Broker in Charge (BIC) to join our growing team. This is an ideal opportunity for a successful, actively selling real estate broker who is ready to take on a leadership role without stepping away from production . We believe the best leadership comes from someone who understands the day-to-day realities of being a real estate professional and can lead by example. We are looking for someone who wants the flexibility and autonomy of an established brokerage environment while still enjoying the energy, collaboration, and team dynamic that comes with being part of something bigger. What You'll Do As Broker in Charge, you will provide leadership, guidance, and support to our agents while helping maintain a positive, professional, and collaborative brokerage culture.
Key responsibilities include:
Serve as the Broker in Charge and provide appropriate supervision, guidance, and support to affiliated agents. Remain an actively producing/competing broker while serving in the BIC role. Recruit experienced and aspiring agents who align with Birch & Beam Realty's culture and values. Help agents grow their businesses through mentorship, accountability, encouragement, and problem-solving. Assist agents with transaction-related questions, brokerage policies, and day-to-day challenges. Handle difficult situations and agent conflicts with professionalism, sound judgment, and effective communication. Foster a team environment where agents feel supported while maintaining the independence and flexibility that experienced real estate professionals value. Help develop and strengthen brokerage systems, processes, and culture as the company continues to grow. Promote a professional, ethical, and client-focused environment. Serve as a resource and leader without micromanaging. What We're Looking For The right candidate will be an established real estate professional who: Has 5+ years of real estate experience . Is BIC eligible and meets all applicable licensing and regulatory requirements. Has an established track record as a real estate professional. Intends to continue actively selling real estate while serving as BIC. Has strong communication and interpersonal skills. Is confident recruiting, connecting with, and developing other agents. Has excellent conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills . Can have difficult conversations while maintaining professionalism and positive relationships. Is organized, dependable, and comfortable taking ownership. Values autonomy and flexibility but genuinely enjoys being part of a team-oriented environment . Leads with professionalism, integrity, and a service-oriented mindset. Is comfortable balancing leadership responsibilities with their own active real estate business. Why Birch & Beam Realty? At Birch & Beam Realty, we believe leadership and production don't have to be mutually exclusive. We're looking for a BIC who wants to lead, sell, recruit, mentor, and grow —not someone who wants to spend all day behind a desk managing an office. This role offers the opportunity to: Continue building and serving your own real estate clientele. Have flexibility and autonomy in how you structure your work. Build meaningful relationships with agents and help them grow their businesses. Who This Role Is For This opportunity is particularly well suited for a broker who has reached a point in their career where they want to do more than just close transactions , but aren't ready—or interested—in giving up their own business. Maybe you've thought about opening your own brokerage but don't want the administrative burden and overhead. Maybe you've been a mentor or informal leader to other agents and realize you genuinely enjoy helping people succeed. Or maybe you're simply looking for a brokerage where you can have a bigger voice, more responsibility, and more opportunity while continuing to sell. If that sounds like you, we'd love to talk. What Success Looks Like Success in this role isn't measured by how many hours you spend sitting in an office. It's measured by: Agents who feel supported and confident. Agents who are growing their businesses. Strong agent retention and recruitment. Smooth, compliant transactions. A healthy and professional brokerage culture. Continued personal production. A willingness to step in, solve problems, and lead when needed. Helping Birch & Beam Realty grow without losing the boutique, relationship-driven culture that makes us different. A Note About the Role This is a hands-on leadership position , but it is not intended to be a traditional full-time office-management role. We want someone who is comfortable being accessible and involved while still maintaining their own business and independence. You should be someone who can answer the phone when an agent needs guidance, jump into a challenging situation when necessary, provide thoughtful oversight, and then get back to your own clients and transactions.
In other words:
we're looking for a leader who still loves real estate. How to Apply If you're an experienced real estate broker who is ready to step into a leadership role without giving up production, we'd love to hear from you. Please submit your resume and a brief overview of your real estate experience, including your current production, leadership or mentoring experience, and why you're interested in joining Birch & Beam Realty. We're not looking for someone who simply wants the title of BIC. We're looking for someone who wants to build something. If you're a producer, a problem-solver, a mentor, and a leader—and you're looking for a brokerage where you can have both autonomy and impact—we'd love to meet you. Be part of a boutique brokerage where your ideas, experience, and leadership actually matter. Help shape the future direction, culture, and growth of the brokerage. Work alongside other motivated real estate professionals in a collaborative environment. Enjoy the support and infrastructure of an established brokerage without the feeling of being micromanaged. Grow your own production while creating additional opportunities through recruiting and leadership. Make a meaningful impact on agents without having to give up the career you've worked hard to build.
