To be eligible at the GS-13 level, you must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level explained below: Specialized experience is defined as experience as financial management expert and developing, planning, executing budget and financial management activities. Examples of specialized experience include analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness and accuracy of financial management processes, systems, and operations in meeting established goals and objectives; providing recommendations and alternative approaches to improve program plans, budget proposals, costs of operations, and program accomplishments; and providing technical guidance, advice, and assistance to employees. Career Transition Assistance Plan (CTAP)- The CTAP provides eligible surplus and displaced competitive service employees in the Department of Justice with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
