ExemptPosition Summary:
This position assists the Budget Manager in developing and executing budget plans for the Operations Division. The role involves establishing, monitoring, managing, and reporting on all statistical and financial aspects of the division, including budgeting, accounting, purchasing, human resources, payroll, inventory, and internal control. The specialist is responsible for all aspects of the budget process and ensures the effective and efficient delivery of services to support the district's mission.What You'll Be Doing:
(Responsibilities) Budget Development and Management Assist in developing, implementing, and managing annual operating budgets for Facilities' Maintenance & Capital Projects, Custodial Services, Transportation, Information Technology, Security, and Child Nutrition Services. Prepare funding applications and close-out reports for Child Nutrition federal programs. Monitor budgets to ensure fund availability and that requested expenditures are within budgetary constraints. Process budget transfers, budget creates, and administrative adjustments. Assist in the preparation and distribution of monthly, quarterly, and annual budget reports. Financial Analysis and Reporting Design and develop expenditure reports in the financial system and introduce measures to manage site expenditures. Meet with program managers to determine budget funding needs and reporting requirements. Respond to inquiries from Administration by analyzing budget plans and operating expenses. Monitor budgets by providing budget reviews to budget holders for departments and schools. Operations and Compliance Implement strategic financial and operations plans for the Operations Division.. Collaborate with budget holders to ensure adherence to budget policies and procedures. Assist departments, school principals and school business analysts in managing their budgets, applying and creating budgets for new grants. Assist the budget manager in annual budget development and amendments. Review business items and provide fiscal impact analysis. Assist with contract review for projects specific toCOP & GO
Bonds (i.e. review contract amounts, change orders, etc.) Assist in establishing and maintaining balancing/control procedures for accounting of budget positions district-wide. Other duties assigned. Training and Technical Guidance Train end-users on budget processes and procedures. Provide technical guidance to District personnel pertaining to daily budget operations. To Be Successful atThis Job, You'll Need To:
(Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus in Accounting. Five (5) years of increasingly responsible professional experience in budget, finance, and operations management, and expenditure analysis in a government entity or large corporation. Possess a strong background in financial analysis and computer skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously. Knowledge in purchasing system, procurement and contract management. Proven record of accomplishment in sound business, operating, and management expertise. In Order to #LevelUp inThis Role, You'll Need:
