BA/BS with at least 5 years of experience; or a combination of related education and work experience in financial analysis, creating and maintaining finance reports, and budgeting to equal 9 years may be substituted Ability to collaborate effectively with people from a variety of communities, backgrounds, and identities Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high demand faculty Strong organizational and customer service orientation skills Strong communication skills with both financial and managerial staff Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and financial software skills

Evidence of successful working relationships with senior management and principal investigators Experience with University of Minnesota financial systems Certified Approver Experience with federal granting agencies to include budgeting, pre and post award Clinical trial experience, budgeting, pre and post award Lead worker experience This Finance Professional 4 position provides reporting to senior management in both the department and corresponding division(s). The position is responsible for reporting, managing, and analyzing for multiple divisions in Pediatrics. This includes acting as the Pediatrics finance contact between the divisions and federal agencies and foundations. Varied situations require analysis and interpretation, using general University policies and procedures as guidelines. This position will support a large portfolio of research grants within the Cognition and Neurodevelopmental Studies (CNS) Lab at the University of Minnesota. The CNS lab is a multiple PI-led research lab with a significant grant funding portfolio across multiple departments (Pediatrics, ICD) housed at the Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain. This is a full-time position with opportunity for remote, in-person, and/or hybrid work, with the expectation that the selected candidate resides in Minnesota. • Financial analysis, oversight and management
• Provide financial oversight, analysis, forecasting, and management of sponsored and non-sponsored data. Prepare financial analysis and recommend actions based on analysis. Develop budgets for projects and studies. Develop and implement process for billing and invoicing for clinical trials. Ensure compliance with University policies and procedures. 35%
• Financial reporting
• Create consolidated financial statements. Report both standard and customized monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for management and principal investigators to meet goals and objectives. Provide information to help in the decision-making process. 15%
• Document approval and effort certification
• Audit and approve expenditures on sponsored research projects.

Interpret grant and contract regulations and their relation to University accounting procedures, identifies areas of concern and recommends solutions. Provide departmental expertise on expenditure requirements and policy. Coordinate the effort certification process. Review effort statements and work with faculty to resolve discrepancies. 10%

• Gift management and external sales
• Monitor donations and other funds deposited to the University of Minnesota Foundation funds. Track and report donations from all donors. 5%
• Finance Team Support & Collaboration
• Train others on procedures and process designs and improvements.

Represent department on university committees. Work closely with Operations, IT, Accounting, Marketing, etc. to understand financial drivers.
