Examples of Duties As a Budget Analyst, you'll support departments, leadership, and the community by: Assisting departments with their budget requests while providing guidance on policy, historical actuals, revenue estimates, and financial procedures Monitoring, tracking, and forecasting revenues and expenditures for budget development and reporting Conducting financial analyses, including budget-to-actuals, historical trends, projections, and cost-benefit studies Ensuring data integrity by reconciling budget reports with the general ledger Supporting the Budget Manager with research for projects requested by the City Manager's Office, CFO, or other departments Preparing and presenting financial reports tailored to different audiences Applying critical thinking, strong writing skills, and excellent communication to clearly explain financial data and insights Experience and Training Who You Are You're analytical, organized, and naturally curious. You enjoy digging into data, noticing trends, and translating financial information into clear, actionable insights.
