• Victoria Department Budget Office Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Location Victoria, Texas Job Type Staff Job Description The Budget Specialist I, under supervision, performs routine budget preparation and analysis work.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares journal and budget entries. Collects, analyzes, and reports data
• Provides advice and assistance concerning budget and funding procedures and methods
• Assists in the monitoring, processing and tracking requests
• Assists in reviewing, evaluating, and preparing request for funds
• Assists in the preparation of annual operating budget
• Assists in the preparation of legislative appropriations requests, fiscal notes, and analysis of legislation
• Conducts training

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
