DHR Global is pleased to partner with the Norton Museum of Art in the search for a strategic and forward-thinking Chief Financial Officer . Founded in 1941, the Norton Museum of Art is one of the nation's leading art museums and the largest in Florida, housing an internationally recognized collection of more than 8,000 works spanning American, European, Chinese, Contemporary, and Photography collections. With approximately 135 employees and annual revenues of $24 million, the Museum serves as a premier cultural destination and is entering an exciting new phase of growth, including a major campus expansion and future comprehensive campaign. Reporting directly to Director & CEO Ghislain d'Humières and serving as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Chief Financial Officer will provide strategic leadership for the Museum's financial operations, long-range planning, investment oversight, and risk management. This executive will play a critical role in strengthening the Museum's financial infrastructure, supporting major capital initiatives, modernizing financial systems, and partnering closely with the Board of Trustees and senior leadership to help guide the institution through its next chapter of growth. Key Responsibilities Partner with the Director & CEO and Executive Leadership Team to develop and execute financial strategies that support the Museum's mission, strategic plan, and long-term growth. Lead all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, accounting, financial reporting, audit management, tax filings, cash management, and compliance. Provide financial analysis and decision support to senior leadership, the Board Treasurer, Finance Committee, Investment Committee, and Audit & Risk Committee. Oversee management of the Museum's endowment, investments, reserves, banking relationships, and debt obligations. Support planning and execution of the Museum's comprehensive campaign through financial modeling, forecasting, and long-term scenario planning. Provide financial stewardship and oversight for major capital and construction projects associated with the Museum's planned campus expansion. Modernize financial systems, reporting capabilities, and business processes through increased automation and enhanced operational efficiency. Partner with Advancement leadership on gift agreements, fundraising reporting, campaign planning, and donor-related financial matters. Collaborate with Human Resources and operational leaders on compensation planning, benefits budgeting, workforce planning, and related financial processes. Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing Finance team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Ideal Candidate Ten or more years of progressive leadership experience in finance, accounting, financial management, and strategic planning. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required; advanced degree and/or CPA preferred. Experience in the nonprofit sector preferred; experience within arts and cultural organizations is highly desirable. Deep knowledge of nonprofit accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and regulatory compliance. Experience overseeing endowments, investments, reserves, and financial planning for complex organizations. Demonstrated success partnering with boards, investment committees, executive leaders, and external advisors. Experience supporting capital projects, comprehensive campaigns, construction initiatives, or large-scale institutional growth efforts is highly desirable. Proven ability to lead, develop, and mentor high-performing teams. Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills. Strategic, collaborative, and mission-driven leader with strong business judgment, integrity, and executive presence.
