Boston, MA Apply Description I'm partnering with a well-established real estate organization seeking a Controller to join its leadership team. This is a newly created role that combines responsibilities previously handled by a long-tenured finance leader along with strategic projects currently supported by the CFO. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller will serve as a key business partner and oversee the full finance and accounting function. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a finance and accounting team of approximately six professionals
- Oversee financial reporting, month-end close, GAAP compliance, and overall accounting operations
- Manage balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, and third-party transaction reporting
- Analyze real estate performance metrics including IRR, cash-on-cash returns, rent rolls, CAM reconciliations, and recoveries
- Partner closely with executive leadership on strategic initiatives, special projects, and operational improvements
- Serve as a polished representative of the finance team when interacting with clients, lenders, board members, and other external stakeholders Requirements What We're Looking For
- CPA required
- 15+ years of accounting and finance experience
- Real estate/property accounting experience required
- Strong operational accounting and financial reporting expertise
- Advanced Excel skills
- Proven leadership and team management experience
