Job Description

One-Year Fellowship Full Time, Administrative Fellowship, Physician Practice Admin, Emerson Health, Concord, MA Are you a graduate student or recent master's graduate passionate about healthcare leadership and physician practice management? Emerson Practice Associates (EPA) is seeking a highly motivated Administrative Fellow to join our leadership team for a one year immersive fellowship experience. This is a unique opportunity to gain executive level exposure, lead high impact healthcare projects, and develop advanced healthcare management skills under the direct mentorship of the Vice President of Emerson Practice Associates. About the Role The EPA Administrative Fellowship is a structured, one year leadership development program designed to provide hands on experience in healthcare operations, revenue cycle management, strategic planning, and physician practice administration. Reporting directly to the Vice President of EPA (Fellowship Preceptor), the fellow will collaborate with executive leaders, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to advance key organizational initiatives that improve performance, patient access, and financial sustainability. What You'll Do As an Administrative Fellow, you will: Lead and support strategic initiatives focused on: Revenue cycle optimization (charge capture, billing, collections) Increasing patient access and volume Expense management and cost containment Productivity and performance analysis Participate in senior leadership meetings and contribute to strategic decision making Complete high impact projects that advance EPA's operational and financial goals Conduct financial, operational, and data analysis to support performance improvement Collaborate with administrative leaders, physicians, and clinical teams Deliver presentations and facilitate discussions with stakeholders Manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail and meeting deadlines What You'll Gain Direct executive mentorship from healthcare leadership Exposure to physician practice operations and healthcare strategy Hands on experience in healthcare finance and revenue cycle management Leadership development in a dynamic healthcare environment The opportunity to build a strong foundation for a career in healthcare administration, hospital operations, consulting, or medical group management Minimum Qualifications Education Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of an accredited Master's program in: Health Administration (MHA) Business Administration (MBA) Public Health (MPH) Finance Accounting Or a related field Experience Prior healthcare experience preferred, but not required Licensure/Certification None required Key Skills and Competencies We are seeking candidates who demonstrate: Strong analytical and problem solving skills Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines Leadership initiative and professional maturity Excellent written and verbal communication skills Presentation and facilitation capabilities Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills High level of organization and attention to detail Interest in physician practice management and healthcare operations Self motivation with the ability to work independently and collaboratively If you are looking for a high impact healthcare administrative fellowship that provides real leadership exposure and measurable project experience, we encourage you to apply.
