JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a senior executive leader responsible for the full scope of financial operations within the organization. Serving as the principal financial strategist, the CFO directs financial planning, risk management, capital allocation, cost controls, and all financial reporting functions. The CFO ensures the financial health and long-term sustainability of the company, maintaining alignment between fiscal policy and organizational strategy at every level of the enterprise. The CFO reports directly with the Chief Executive Officer and the broader executive leadership team to drive profitability, operational efficiency, and long-term growth. This individual serves as a key voice in enterprise-wide decision making, providing data-driven financial counsel that influences strategic direction, investment priorities, and resource allocation. The CFO is equally comfortable operating at the 30,000-foot strategic level and engaging in the granular details of plant-level performance. This role demands deep expertise in manufacturing economics, including cost of goods sold (COGS) dynamics, plant-level profit and loss management, capital-intensive fixed asset oversight, and supply chain finance. The ideal candidate brings a proven record of financial leadership within a complex, operations-intensive manufacturing environment and has demonstrated the ability to build scalable finance organizations that support sustainable, profitable growth.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

a. Financial Strategy & Planning

• Lead annual budgeting processes, 3-5 year strategic financial planning cycles, and multi-scenario financial modeling to guide executive and board-level decision making.
• Optimize the company's capital structure; manage banking relationships, covenant compliance, and debt facilities to ensure favorable financing terms and liquidity.
• Evaluate merger and acquisition (M&A) opportunities, including financial due diligence, deal structuring, valuation modeling, and post-merger financial integration support.
• Develop long-range financial forecasts aligned with operational capacity plans, market conditions, and corporate growth targets. b. Financial Reporting & Compliance
• Oversee preparation of accurate, timely, and GAAP-compliant financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Manage relationships with external auditors; coordinate the annual audit process and ensure all findings are remediated promptly and effectively. c. Manufacturing Cost Management
• Direct the standard costing system, including BOM (bill of materials) costing, overhead absorption rates, and variance analysis programs at the plant level.
• Lead cost reduction initiatives across manufacturing plants, procurement functions, and the broader supply chain, identifying and tracking measurable savings targets.
• Oversee capital expenditure (CapEx) planning, approval workflows, project tracking, ROI analysis, and fixed asset management in accordance with company policy.
• Analyze inventory valuation methodologies and manage inventory reserve positions to ensure accurate balance sheet representation. d. Treasury & Cash Management
• Develop and maintain a rolling cash flow forecast model; manage daily liquidity positions to ensure operational funding requirements are met at all times.
• Optimize working capital by driving improvements in days sales outstanding (DSO), days payable outstanding (DPO), and inventory turns across the organization.
• Manage all financing instruments including revolving lines of credit, term loans, equipment financing, and other debt or equity facilities. e. Risk Management & Internal Controls
• Design, implement, and maintain an enterprise risk management (ERM) framework that identifies financial, operational, strategic, and compliance risks across the business.
• Provide oversight of the internal audit function, including annual audit plans, fieldwork, findings reporting, and management remediation tracking.
• Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures; ensure the internal control environment meets or exceeds industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee corporate insurance programs and enterprise-wide tax planning, compliance, and filing obligations across federal, state, and international jurisdictions. f. Leadership & Team Development
• Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain a high-performing finance and accounting organization capable of supporting the company's growth objectives.
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and financial discipline throughout the finance function and across all departments.
• Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, Human Resources, and Information Technology to align financial goals with operational execution.
• Present consolidated financial results, forward-looking guidance, and strategic financial recommendations to the key stakeholders on a regular cadence. Qualifications
• Education -Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related field required. CPA, CMA, or MBA strongly preferred.
• Experience - Total 10+ years of progressive, senior-level finance and accounting experience in roles of increasing scope and responsibility.
• Experience - Leadership Minimum of 5 years in a CFO, VP of Finance, or equivalent executive-level finance leadership role with direct P&L accountability.
• Industry Experience - Prior experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or operations-intensive environment is required.
• Technical Knowledge - Deep proficiency in GAAP, cost accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent platforms.
• Revenue Scale - Proven track record of financial leadership at a company with annual revenues of $50M or greater.
