Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer to provide interim financial leadership for our client in the Westchester, NY area. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for a senior finance executive who manage cash flow, document procedures and have a knowledge transfer with the outgoing CFO. The role will also partner closely with development teams on requisition-related work while bringing structure, oversight, and strategic guidance to the broader finance function.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the finance function in an interim executive capacity, providing direction, oversight, and decision support across the organization.
  • Design, document, and implement standard operating procedures that improve consistency, accountability, and efficiency within financial processes.
  • Manage and review requisition activity in close collaboration with developers to support construction and project funding needs.
  • Oversee capital planning and financial stewardship for development-related initiatives, helping align resources with business priorities.
  • Use Yardi to monitor financial activity, maintain accurate records, and support reporting for real estate development operations.
  • Supervise and mentor a small finance team, including direct oversight of two reports, while setting clear expectations and priorities.
  • Deliver financial analysis, reporting, and recommendations to leadership to support operational and strategic decisions.
  • Contribute expertise in affordable housing finance structures, including Low Income Housing Tax Credit matters, when applicable to project needs. Requirements
  • 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including service in a senior executive or CFO-level role.
  • Strong background in creating and formalizing standard operating procedures within a finance or accounting environment.
  • Demonstrated experience handling approved requisitions and coordinating financial workflows connected to development projects.
  • Solid knowledge of capital management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls.
  • Hands-on experience with Yardi is required.
  • Experience in real estate development, construction, or new development environments is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Low Income Housing Tax Credit programs is a plus, but not required.
  • Proven ability to lead teams effectively and work cross-functionally with developers and operational stakeholders.
