Headquartered in Fort Lauderdale with an office in Las Vegas, the firm has been doubling in size annually. We are building a dedicated Business Tax & Advisory platform to serve the businesses behind our UHNW client base—privately held companies, family enterprises, PE-backed platforms, and closely held entities with real tax and operational complexity.

no audit, no attestation—pure advisory and compliance across Business Tax, CFO Advisory, and Specialty Tax. About the Role We are hiring a small number of CFO Advisors to serve as the financial leadership layer for NJA's small and mid-market business clients. This role is designed for a senior finance professional—former CFO, Controller, or experienced fractional CFO—who wants to continue operating at a high level with institutional support and a consistent client pipeline. NJA's business development team generates and qualifies opportunities. You will help close engagements and then own the client relationship end-to-end—serving as the senior financial voice to ownership and management. Engagements are structured as monthly retainers, with Advisors typically managing a portfolio of clients sized to their capacity. NJA's offshore delivery team supports the accounting and reporting layer, allowing you to focus on CFO-level work. What You'll Do Meet with prospective clients, build credibility, and convert introductions into retained relationships Serve as fractional or interim CFO across a portfolio of small and mid-market clients, acting as the senior financial advisor to ownership and management Lead financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and long-term planning Oversee financial reporting and controls, ensuring alignment with GAAP (and

where applicable), while directing NJA's delivery team on execution Advise on capital structure, cash flow, liquidity management, banking relationships, and covenant compliance Support clients through transactions, ownership transitions, and key inflection points, including M&A evaluation and integration Provide oversight on risk management, internal controls, and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX, COSO) as appropriate to client needs Collaborate with NJA's tax and legal teams to deliver integrated advice Identify opportunities to deepen client relationships and expand the scope of NJA's engagement What We're Looking ForRequired CPA required 15+ years of progressive finance experience, including time as CFO, Controller, or VP of Finance Experience owning financial reporting, planning, and lender/ownership-level communication Ability to manage multiple client relationships simultaneously Strong executive presence and credibility in client-facing settings Self-directed and comfortable operating without a large corporate infrastructure Ideal Background Former CFO or Controller at a $10M-$200M privately held or family-owned business Senior finance executive seeking meaningful, flexible work later in career Fractional CFO practitioner looking for a stronger platform and client pipeline Big Four or top-tier advisory experience Nice to Have Experience with PE-backed or sponsor-owned businesses Familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, or similar) Experience managing offshore or blended delivery teams Existing relationships in South Florida, Metro New York, or California Compensation & Benefits Total compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience, with an expected range of $350,000 - $450,000+ . Structure includes a base salary plus performance-based bonus tied to client portfolio size, new business closed, and retention. Upside is uncapped.
