This role offers the opportunity to lead AUCU's financial strategy and operations, overseeing accounting, asset-liability management, budgeting, financial planning, investments, and regulatory financial reporting. Reporting directly to the President/CEO, the CFO serves as a key strategic partner to executive leadership and the Board, providing financial insights that support decision-making and organizational growth. The CFO will be responsible for maintaining the credit union's financial strength while identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and support strategic initiatives. This includes overseeing financial forecasting, liquidity management, capital planning, and risk management practices that ensure stability in an evolving economic and regulatory environment. The role also includes responsibility for internal controls, audit coordination, and regulatory compliance within financial operations. The CFO will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure financial practices align with industry standards while supporting innovation and growth. This highly visible leadership role requires strong analytical capability, communication skills, and a collaborative leadership style that enables cross-functional success. Help Us Get to Know You We are seeking an experienced financial executive with at least seven years of progressive leadership experience in financial management, and experience working in a financial institution is required. Candidates should bring demonstrated success in financial strategy, asset-liability management, budgeting, and regulatory financial reporting, along with experience supporting executive and board-level decision-making. A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred, however candidates must hold a CPA designation. Candidates must demonstrate working familiarity with Jack Henry and Symitar platforms, including the ability to leverage system reporting and financial data to support operational and strategic financial management. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership and communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to supporting AUCU's mission and culture while guiding financial performance and long-term growth. This position is based in Auburn, Alabama, and requires in-person engagement with staff, leadership, and community partners. Remote work is not available for this role.
