Job Description

We are looking for a strategic Chief Financial Officer to lead financial planning, operational oversight, and long-term business decision-making for a mission-driven organization in Midland, Texas. This leader will partner closely with executive stakeholders to strengthen financial performance, improve controls, and guide sustainable growth through thoughtful analysis and sound judgment. The ideal candidate brings strong nonprofit financial leadership experience, a collaborative management style, and the ability to translate complex data into clear business recommendations.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the organization's financial strategy by aligning budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning with overall business and operational goals.
  • Establish and strengthen internal financial controls, reporting practices, and risk management processes to support accuracy, compliance, and accountability.
  • Provide executive leadership with actionable financial analysis and modeling that supports informed, data-driven decisions across the organization.
  • Oversee financial and operational systems, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and process performance.
  • Direct investment oversight, cash management, and broader financial stewardship to protect organizational resources and support long-term stability.
  • Negotiate and manage financial aspects of vendor and service agreements to secure favorable terms and reduce organizational risk.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to develop business initiatives, evaluate projects, and support effective execution of strategic priorities.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance and business services team, including talent development and recruitment as needed.
