Job Description

Job Description Batten University - Virginia Beach, Virginia Batten University (formerly Virginia Wesleyan University) invites applications and nominations for the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) . Located in coastal Virginia Beach, Batten University enrolls approximately 1,600 students in traditional undergraduate programs and 3,500 learners in graduate, online, and continuing education programs . The institution is experiencing a period of significant growth and transformation, including the recent acquisition of Sentara College of Health Sciences , integration of the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art (Virginia MOCA) , and the establishment of a collaborative campus, the Batten & Black School for International Studies at Lakeland University Japan . Reporting to the Vice President for Enterprise Strategy , the CFO serves as the University's chief financial officer and provides strategic leadership for all financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, treasury management, audits, investments, debt management, risk management, procurement, and financial planning. The CFO works closely with senior leadership and supports the financial work of the Board of Trustees. Candidates should possess a master's degree in a relevant field and a record of progressively responsible financial leadership. Experience in higher education, nonprofit finance, strategic planning, capital projects, mergers or acquisitions, and ERP systems is preferred. CPA preferred.
