This position will be located at 920 Wilwood Dr. Jefferson City, MO 65109, with ability for remote work after initial training period. Why you'll love this position: The Bureau of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is responsible for protecting the health, safety and welfare of the public by assuring that emergency medical services provided by ambulance services, emergency medical response agencies, training entities and EMS personnel meet the established standards. The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay. Responsibilities - What you'll do Conduct investigations related to EMS licensure, compliance, and public safety; prepare clear, thorough investigative reports and case documentation Investigate complaints received by the Bureau, including allegations of misconduct, fraud, and regulatory violations Review and investigate applicants with criminal histories to determine eligibility for licensure in accordance with state statutes and rules Monitor and enforce compliance with settlement agreements, consent orders, and probated licenses Conduct interviews with complainants, respondents, witnesses, and other stakeholders via telephone and in-person Identify and investigate potential application fraud and falsification of records Collaborate with legal counsel, leadership, and partner agencies to support enforcement actions and case resolution Serve as a subject matter resource to internal staff and external stakeholders on regulatory requirements and investigative processes Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications - All you need for successMinimum Qualifications:
Possess a valid Missouri Class F driver license, or an equivalent license from another state; must maintain an acceptable driving record in accordance with Missouri Department of Public Safety (DPS) and DHSS policies. Two to four (2-4) years of experience in investigations, law enforcement, regulatory compliance, or a related field. Demonstrated interviewing and investigative skills, including the ability to gather, analyze, and document information; experience preparing clear and accurate investigative reports. Strong written communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise, and defensible investigative reports Ability to gain and apply working knowledge of Missouri statutes and regulations enforced by the Bureau of EMS. Ability to work independently, manage multiple investigations, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive, professional working relationships with individuals across a variety of disciplines and backgrounds. Associate or bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or a related field is preferred, but not required Lack of post‐secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
