• Contract We are a well-respected and established independent adjusting firm with immediate openings for experienced 1099 independent insurance adjusters to handle property claims in Indiana and Illinois.

We would like to add contractors to our roster in Northern Indiana, South/Central Indiana and Central Illinois. We are only accepting applications from experienced independent adjusters. Candidates must have prior experience handling property claims as an independent adjuster. This is a commission based postition as a 1099 contractor. Applications without relevant property claims handling experience will be automatically rejected. We need a dedicated and ambitious individual with strong computer skills and an ability to work efficiently to handle claims in a timely manner. The ability to deal with insurance companies, clients, contractors, etc. professionally and politely is required. Due to the nature of claims handling working after hours, weekends and holidays may be necessary but not the rule.

What We Are Looking For:

Experience:

3+ years of experience in insurance property field adjusting/inspections.

Tools:

Proficient in Xactimate and comfortable working with technology to submit reports efficiently and ensure clear communication with the carrier, insured and file manager.

Licensing:

Valid Indiana adjuster license required.

Requirements:

A reliable vehicle for site inspections, ability to work independently, and strong communication skills. Roof climbing ability is a must.

Location:

Adjuster must be familiar with Central and Southern Indiana and willing to travel to those areas. Some work in other parts of Indiana and occasionally Illinois may be needed. A minimum of 2 years experience as a licensed independent insurance adjuster is required. Well-qualified individuals will already have a resident adjuster license and AIC or similar certification and must able to use Microsoft Office, File Management Software, Email, and Xactimate Software. He or she will have the ability to take measurements, digital photographs, voice recorded and written statements is also necessary. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are very important. The position has physical requirements such as climbing ladders, walking on roofs, entering crawlspace areas, etc.

Responsibilities:

Inspect property damage and determine extent of damages Scene Inspections Communicate with insureds, claimants, witnesses, attorneys, etc. Statement taking Photographing damage and scenes Captioning photos and preparing written reports Write estimates and diagrams in Xactimate Request police, medical, fire records, etc. Compose full captioned reports Negotiate to settle claims Follow specific claims handling guidelines set by insurance companies Give policyholders and claimants prompt and knowledgeable service and courteous, fair and objective treatment Comply with all local, state, and federal privacy and information security laws Have reliable transportation with a valid driver's license and insurance Be willing to submit to a background check The ability to act on behalf of Davis Claims Service in a professional and confidential manner is required. You will need to provide your own workspace from your location and technology such as a cell phone, laptop computer, Xactimate software, etc. Please provide your certifications and training background with your resume. Sample writings and reports may be requested to evaluate the applicant's skill set. The ability to act on behalf of Davis Claims Service in a professional and confidential manner is required. You must be willing to submit to a background check. An Independent Contractor Agreement must be signed.
