Houston, TX Position Overview:
Our client, an A+ rated AM Best carrier is looking to bring on an experienced coverage & complex claims specialist to the team. This role will be responsible for handling bad faith suits filed against the major case unit while working heavily with coverage counsel and legal. The ideal candidate will have experience handling claims filed against insurance carriers, with class-action & asbestos experience a plus. Key Responsibilities Oversee the full lifecycle of complex claims, ensuring strong outcomes, disciplined execution, and a high standard of service Handle core claim responsibilities including coverage review, investigations, liability assessment, reserving, litigation management, vendor coordination, and settlement negotiations Work cross-functionally with TPAs, account managers, legal, underwriting, and operations teams to align on and drive effective resolution strategies Maintain consistent, timely communication with clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders, while ensuring accurate reporting, documentation, and file management practices Contribute to TPA oversight through training, audits, and best practice sharing, and support key proceedings such as mediations and trials while maintaining required licensing.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctorate (J.D.) required. 10+ general liability claims handling experience. Expertise in bad faith claims. Strong analytic and communication skills.
