POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of a Claims Manager, the Claims Supervisor is responsible for ensuring delivery of quality claims services by ensuring staff and contracted team members have the necessary information and training to complete their work in compliance with association and regulatory standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

These functions are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required: Demonstrates a customer centric attitude Reviews open and closed claim files to ensure they are being handled consistently based on established guidelines and procedures. Gives direction to ensure claims are handled accurately and appropriately within established time frames. Ensures consistent delivery of services that meets or exceeds customer expectations and complies with regulatory and company standards by monitoring team members productivity and quality through management reports and file reviews Reviews and approves, within assigned authority levels, claim expenses and payments that exceed the examiner's granted authority Provides ongoing training and employee development to team members and ensures all receive communication of department policies and procedures Resolves complaints, problems, and coverage questions which have been escalated through the team Participates in department initiatives such as analyzing reserves, leakage, and methods for pending reductions Participates in short-term planning and prepares management report to ensure the most expeditious and equitable resolution of claims to the insureds and the department Develops, recommends and implements operating schedules, workflows and procedures to achieve optimal team performance levels Communicates decisions in a clear and professional manner
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree AIC, and/or CPCU designation, or demonstrated progress toward achieving the designation 3+ years of relevant work experience
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Bilingual, preferably Spanish and/or Asian Languages
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the ability to sit, hear, converse over the telephone, and key frequently on a computer for long periods of time. This position may require overnight travel and remote work outside the office as part of our Organization-wide efforts to respond to high claim volume caused by catastrophic storm events.
