Our Opportunity We are looking for a DOT Compliance Manager for our Corporate Office in Decatur, AL. The DOT Compliance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining GreenPoint Ag's transportation compliance and safety program. This position will provide oversight of Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), and applicable state and federal transportation requirements while partnering with Transportation, Fleet, Human Resources, Operations, Maintenance, and Fleet Systems. The DOT Compliance Manager will establish consistent processes for driver qualification, Hours of Service, electronic logging devices, vehicle inspections, maintenance documentation, drug and alcohol compliance, DOT records, incident reporting, and other regulatory requirements. This position will use Samsara and other transportation systems as tools to monitor compliance, identify exceptions, maintain documentation, and proactively address risk. The role is responsible for ensuring that technology supports the compliance program while maintaining clear ownership of the underlying regulatory requirements and processes. DOT/FMCSA
compliance programs, policies, procedures, and records across transportation operations. Monitor federal and state transportation regulations, communicate relevant changes, and prepare for audits, inspections, and compliance reviews. Manage driver qualification processes, records, credential monitoring, motor vehicle record reviews, and documentation for new hires, transfers, and separations. Oversee Hours of Service and ELD compliance, including exception reviews, unassigned driving time, violation trends, corrective actions, and driver education. Ensure vehicle inspection, DVIR, repair documentation, periodic inspection, and safety-defect processes are completed and auditable. Coordinate DOT drug and alcohol compliance requirements, including testing processes, Clearinghouse activity, confidential records, and related HR/management actions. Use Samsara and related transportation systems to monitor compliance data, reporting, alerts, driver activity, vehicle status, and process improvement opportunities. Establish and maintain incident and accident reporting processes, post-accident procedures, documentation, trend review, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions. Develop training, communication, and guidance to support driver understanding, leadership visibility, and a proactive compliance culture. Conduct internal audits, identify compliance gaps, track corrective actions, maintain scorecards or dashboards, and continuously improve compliance processes. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Safety, or related field preferred. 3-5+ years of experience in transportation, fleet operations, DOT compliance, safety, logistics, or related field. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations. Experience with Hours of Service and ELD systems. Experience with driver qualification files and transportation compliance records. Experience with DOT drug and alcohol compliance and Clearinghouse processes preferred. Experience with Samsara or another ELD/fleet management platform preferred. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical operating procedures. Strong communication skills and ability to work with drivers, managers, executives, and cross-functional teams. Ability to conduct audits, identify deficiencies, and drive corrective action. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. Sitting for extended periods and the use of hands to finger is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is helpful for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents. No heavy lifting is expected. Exertion of up to 10 lbs. of force may occasionally be required. While performing the duties of this job, good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, and copiers is needed. The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb, balance, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Travel Up to 20% travel will be required.
