Job Description

  • Position Summary...
  • The Group Director, Specialty Compliance and Ethics
  • Consumer Protection sets the vision and leads consumer protection compliance program that enables regulatory compliance while supporting growth.
The role provides leadership across consumer protection domains, including product and packaging claims, weights and measures, pricing accuracy, product labeling, subscriptions, warranty and returns practices, and coordination. As leader of the Consumer Protection Compliance team, the Group Director translates complex regulatory requirements into scalable policies, standards, and controls embedded into business processes. The role partners with Legal, Corporate Affairs, Operations, Product, Technology, and Merchandising to identify risk, build compliance infrastructure, and improve program effectiveness.

  • About the team:
  • The Specialty Compliance and Ethics team leads the development and execution of strategies to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and ethical standards.
Collaborating with senior leadership and stakeholders, the team monitors compliance risks, updates policies, and implements training programs. They align compliance initiatives with business objectives while promoting integrity and accountability. By leveraging industry best practices and continuous improvement, the team supports effective risk management and fosters transparent communication across the organization to uphold Walmart's commitment to lawful and ethical operations.
  • What you'll do:
  • + Define and lead Consumer Protection Compliance strategy across U.
S. and global operations. + Coordinate with Consumer Protection subject matter experts globally to share best practices, ensure alignment, and execute efficiencies. + Ensure compliance is embedded into business workflows, including process design, automation, and AI initiatives. + Develop and update policies, SOPs, and training programs in collaboration with stakeholders. + Monitor regulatory changes, assess business impact, and implement strategies to maintain compliance. + Champion the use of data, automation, and technology-enabled controls to improve program scalability and effectiveness. + Foster a culture of integrity by promoting ethical standards and accountability . + Lead and develop a team of associates responsible for consumer protection compliance.
  • What you'll bring:
  • + Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
+ Extensive experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, business operations, or law; exposure to complex, regulated, multi-national environments preferred. + Experience building and maturing compliance programs, including governance structures, controls, KPIs/KRIs, policies, and monitoring frameworks. + Working knowledge of consumer protection laws and regulatory expectations, and ability to synthesize and operationalize requirements into practical, business-aligned solutions. + Demonstrated skill in stakeholder engagement and communication, and cross-functional collaboration. + Bias to action, resourceful, and approachable while also having the ability to influence and lead change. + Proven people leader with experience leading leaders and developing associates. Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and 6 years' experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area OR 8 years' experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area. 5 years' experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office. 5 years' of supervisory experience.
