Doral, FL Job Details Full-time 15 hours ago Qualifications International trade regulations Full Job Description For over 30 years, DASI has been in the business of providing comprehensive aircraft inventory support for airlines, MROs, OEMs, and distributors. Headquartered in Miami, Florida, with service centers in London and Singapore, DASI is a truly global partner, serving customers' parts and inventory needs in more than 140 countries.
Purpose:
At DASI, the Director of Trade Compliance is responsible for leading the maintenance, education and enforcement of DASI's global trade compliance program. This role partners closely with internal leadership, to mitigate risk and manage compliance frameworks.
Key accountabilities:
Oversee the Global Trade Compliance team, fostering a culture of compliance, continuous improvement, and accountability within the organization Develop, implement, and continuously enhance DASI's global trade compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls. Provide strategic guidance to executive leadership on trade compliance risks, mitigation strategies, and business impacts. Serve as the subject matter expert on export controls, including
EAR, OFAC
sanctions, and BIS regulations. Manage export licensing strategies, applications, renewals, and authorizations Assess transshipment and diversion risks and implement controls to mitigate exposure. Lead internal audits, investigations, and compliance assessments, identifying areas of risk. Monitor and interpret regulatory changes and ensure timely implementation across the organization. Identify and implement strategies to minimize duty and tax exposure, and mange relief programs. Develop and deliver trade compliance training programs for the business. Promote a culture of compliance and accountability across all business units Perform all other duties as assigned.
Key skills and competences:
Strong analytical and risk-based decision-making capabilities Ability to independently assess complex regulatory issues and provide executive-level recommendations Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy under pressure Advanced proficiency in data management and Excel Excellent communication skills, including the ability to influence senior leadership Proactive mindset with strong ownership and accountability Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, global environment Demonstrated leadership capability, including experience managing teams and influencing cross functional partners.
Experience and qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent experience); advanced certifications in trade compliance (CCS, CES) are a plus Minimum of 10+ years of experience in trade compliance, with progressive responsibility Strong expertise in: EAR (Export Administration Regulations) OFAC sanctions compliance BIS regulations and enforcement End-use and end-user screening Transshipment and diversion risk analysis Extensive knowledge of:
ITAR, U.S., UK/EU
import/export regulations Tariff classification, customs valuation, and country of origin rules INCOTERMs and international logistics processes Proven experience managing customs brokers and third-party logistics providers Experience in the aviation industry strongly preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills High degree of professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment Proven experience with duty relief management, tariff classification, customs valuation and customs origin.
