ASSA ABLOY
is expanding our Engineering Team and is seeking a Compliance Specialist to join us. While this role supports the broader Door Group, it will be based on-site at our Curries manufacturing facility in Mason City, Iowa. What would you do as our Compliance Specialist? You will be responsible for ensuring Door Group facilities producing hollow metal doors and frames maintain compliance with applicable industry standards, certifications, and codes. This role plays a critical part in managing and maintaining UL and Intertek certifications, with a primary focus on fire-rated and windstorm-certified products. You will serve as the primary liaison between certification agencies and internal quality, engineering, and operations teams, ensuring certifications remain accurate, current, and aligned with product offerings.
You will also:
Monitor, manage, and maintain UL and Intertek certifications across multiple facilities and brands Serve as the primary point of contact with UL and Intertek, including initiating and managing listing updates for new or enhanced product offerings Request, track, and document certification listing changes and approvals Identify and lead certification consolidation opportunities to simplify listing management and expand product capabilities Ensure facilities maintain valid markings, labels, and production documentation in accordance with applicable standards, including
UL 10C, UL 752, NFPA 80, ASTM, ANSI
A250.13, and windstorm-related requirements Prepare facilities for third-party certification inspections by ensuring documentation, quality records, and samples are inspection-ready Conduct internal audits and facility reviews to identify non-conformances and partner with operations teams to implement corrective actions Develop, maintain, and update internal compliance procedures supporting certification requirements Track and resolve non-conformances, product deviations, and corrective action reports related to certification standards Act as the internal subject matter expert for fire-rated and windstorm product compliance Provide training and guidance to operations, engineering, quality, and product management teams on certification requirements Support product development teams in assessing certification impacts for new or modified designs Actively contribute to a safe, collaborative, and compliant working environment Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate governance requirements, AADG policies, and the

Code of Conduct The skills and experience you bring: Bachelor's degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering, or a related technical field 3-5 years of experience in compliance, quality systems, or certification management within building products, construction materials, or a related manufacturing environment Working knowledge of hollow metal door and frame construction and performance standards Direct experience working with UL, Intertek, or similar third-party certification bodies preferred Strong understanding of fire-rated, windstorm, and/or impact-resistant product requirements Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple certifications across facilities Proven ability to address audit findings and implement corrective actions Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with auditors, facility leaders, and cross-functional teams Ability to balance compliance enforcement with a collaborative, partnership-driven approach Willingness to travel up to 40%, including travel to Mexico and Canada
