Department GOV-Office of Financial Institutions Opening Date 07/10/2026 Closing Date 7/16/2026 11:59 PM Central About this Job The Office of Financial Institutions is responsible for the supervision of various entities which provide financial services to the citizens of the State of Louisiana. The Office is divided into three major divisions based on general types of institutions regulated - the Depository Institutions Division, the Non-Depository Services Division, and the Securities Division. OFI is committed to developing a highly professional staff that effectively utilizes available resources and makes sound decisions. Incumbent supervises a staff of Compliance Examiners responsible for conducting examinations of regulated entities including Residential Mortgage Lenders, Money Transmitters, Virtual Currency companies, Pawnbrokers, Check Cashers, Licensed Lenders, Bond for Deed (BFD), and Repossession Agencies. Receives general supervision from a Compliance Examiner Deputy Chief. Minimum Qualifications Seven years of experience in accounting, auditing, banking, compliance management, financial operations, or insurance; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field plus nine semester hours in accounting and an additional fifteen semester hours in accounting, economics, finance, business law, insurance, statistics, financial analysis, or money and banking plus four years of experience in accounting, auditing, banking, compliance management, financial operations, or insurance; OR A bachelor's degree with nine semester hours in accounting and an additional fifteen semester hours in accounting, economics, finance, business law, insurance, statistics, financial analysis, or money and banking plus four years of experience in accounting, auditing, banking, compliance management, financial operations, or insurance; OR A bachelor's degree in accounting, auditing, finance, business administration, management, economics, or statistics plus four years of experience in accounting, auditing, banking, compliance management, financial operations, or insurance; OR An advanced degree in accounting, auditing, finance, business or public administration, management, economics, quantitative methods, or statistics plus three years of experience in accounting, auditing, banking, compliance management, financial operations, or insurance; OR A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, Certified Financial Examiner (CFE), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation plus two years of experience in accounting, auditing, banking, compliance management, financial operations, or insurance.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties:
Oversees the on-site and off-site examination process. Trains or supervises the on-the-job training of Compliance Examiners as they progress through the training series. Supervises examiners in analyzing the most difficult and problematic licensees and assists the Examiner-in-Charge in preparing for the exit meeting at the conclusion of the examination. Confers and corresponds with subordinate compliance examiners to provide information, resolve problems, and clarify any discrepancies or inconsistencies with examination principles, practices, or procedures. Serves as Assistant-in-Charge and Examiner-in-Charge on a rotating basis and performs these duties for the most complex examinations.

Compensation:
