PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
As Manager, Customs & Transportation, you'll be at the forefront of optimizing our domestic and international logistics operations—ensuring seamless material flow and asset availability across borders. You'll drive cost-effective, high-quality solutions in partnership with business leaders, while managing vendor contracts, budgets, and lead a talented team of 3 reports across Canada and Mexico. POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
Lead and manage North American Trade Compliance for imports/exports, ensuring alignment with corporate policies Oversee transportation and logistics operations, vendor performance, and regulatory compliance Develop and implement trade compliance procedures, training, and manuals Ensure accurate customs data (HTS, COO, ECCN, valuation, Incoterms) across the supply chain Collaborate with internal teams (tax, legal, IT, procurement) and external partners to ensure compliant cross-border operations Manage customs brokers and logistics providers, supporting timely, compliant deliveries Identify scalable solutions to improve compliance, reduce costs, and streamline operations Guide day-to-day trade compliance matters, including audits, duty programs, and government agency requirements Lead sourcing strategies and contract negotiations for customs and transportation services
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Business/Commerce, or a related field with a strong quantitative focus. U.S. Licensed Customs Broker or equivalent international certification, education, and experience. Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in corporate trade compliance, with demonstrated knowledge of import/export regulations and global trade practices. This role requires demonstrated leadership capabilities and a clear aspiration to move into a people‑leadership role in the future
