This role leads investigation, containment, teardown analysis, corrective action and risk mitigation for compliance-related Engine Problem Reports, thermal events, regulatory failures and customer escapes with potential safety, legal or agency impact. The role partners closely with Engineering, Legal, Service, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality and Product Management to ensure product safety concerns are investigated with urgency, supported by objective evidence and closed through disciplined problem-solving. This position also owns the quality response for issues that may require communication, documentation or corrective action back to agencies such as the EPA. Specific Responsibilities Lead quality investigations for product safety, regulatory/compliance and related Engine Problem Reports. Drive structured problem-solving for compliance failures, emissions-related defects, thermal events and high-risk customer escapes. Establish and maintain a closed-loop product safety and compliance process from issue identification through containment, investigation, corrective action, effectiveness verification and final closure Owns internal Rehlko system that tracks all safety/regulatory occurrences. Lead engine and generator teardown investigations, including evidence collection, failure analysis, reporting, root cause and corrective action tracking. Partner with Legal, Engineering, Regulatory and Service to assess risk, define containment and determine the appropriate path forward on field escapes. Ensure investigation records, corrective actions and closure evidence are complete, accurate and defensible. Monitor repeat and emerging safety/compliance trends from warranty, service, customer complaints, regulatory reports, production defects and teardown findings Support agency-facing documentation, internal risk reviews and compliance-related corrective action responses. Identify systemic failure modes and drive prevention through PFMEA updates, control plan improvements, process controls, training and supplier corrective actions. Escalate safety or compliance risks quickly and drive cross-functional ownership until effective corrective action is verified. Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related technical field required. 5+ years of experience in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Reliability, Product Safety, Regulatory Compliance, or a related technical role. Experience leading structured problem-solving, root cause analysis, corrective action and effectiveness verification required. Experience with product safety, regulatory compliance, field failures, customer escapes, teardown analysis, warranty issues, or high-risk investigations. Experience working with engines, generators, emissions-regulated products, electrical products, power equipment, or durable goods manufacturing. Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, influence cross-functional teams, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree or technical certification in Quality, Product Safety, Regulatory Compliance, or Reliability Engineering preferred. Experience supporting engine, mechanical, electrical, or complex assembly manufacturing. Working knowledge of EPA, CARB, product safety, emissions compliance, PFMEA, control plans, 8D, A3, 5-Why, PPAP, and change management preferred. SAP Experience The Salary range for this position is $89,800.00- 114,100.
