Job Description
- Purpose of Position
- The Regulatory Engineer plays a critical role in securing new product approvals and managing ongoing compliance within the fueling industry across the North American market.
- Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies and third-party testing laboratories such as UL to secure new product approvals.
- Lead regulatory projects from request for quotation (RFQ) through final certification, with an emphasis for on time delivery.
- Maintain and manage existing product approvals throughout the product lifecycle to ensure continuous compliance.
- Provide guidance on product labeling requirements and review labels for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships as the company's liaison with government and private agencies to facilitate product certifications and sustaining activities.
- Serve as the regulatory and compliance SME for the North American market.
- Communicate project status and key deliverables to senior management.
- Support the maintenance of regulatory files and databases to ensure rapid access to regulatory information for approvals and renewals.
- Interpret standards and regulations, providing clear guidance to cross-functional teams.
- Participate in regulatory and standards panels as required.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance regulatory processes.
- Support the execution of global regulatory strategy initiatives.
- Travel up to 15% as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Background and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent professional experience
- Two or more years of experience in regulatory and compliance roles; familiarity with oil and gas regulatory requirements is preferred
- Fluent in English
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional and multicultural teams
