This hands-on leader will take ownership of Tyndale's day-to-day Quality function while helping build and strengthen scalable quality and compliance processes across the organization. In this role, you'll oversee supplier quality, inspections, defect management, and certification compliance while partnering cross-functionally to ensure products consistently meet regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and internal standards. You'll play a key role in improving processes, driving operational discipline, and supporting Tyndale's continued growth. Build & Scale Quality & Compliance Function Build and structure the Quality function to support current operations and future growth Establish clear workflows, ownership, and standard operating procedures across all quality activities Develop and maintain quality documentation, including procedures, manuals, and work instructions Identify gaps in current processes and implement scalable solutions Compliance & Certification Management Oversee execution and maintenance of product compliance programs and certifications (e.g., UL, ASTM, NFPA) Ensure processes are in place to support ongoing certification requirements, audits, and renewals Drive organization and control of compliance documentation, records, and traceability systems Partner cross-functionally to ensure compliance requirements are understood and consistently executed Identify compliance risks and ensure appropriate escalation and resolution Quality Operations Leadership Lead daily execution of the Quality function, including prioritization, workload management, and issue resolution Establish and maintain operating cadence (daily/weekly reviews, escalation tracking, performance follow-ups) Ensure timely and effective response to quality issues across inbound, returns, and supplier-related concerns Team Leadership & Development Manage, coach, and develop quality team members Support hiring and onboarding as the function expands Establish clarity around roles, responsibilities, and expectations Balance hands-on involvement with delegation as team capabilities grow Drive Execution of Quality Processes Ensure consistent execution of established quality systems, standards, and processes Oversee effectiveness of supplier quality, compliance validation, inspection programs, and defect management Identify breakdowns in execution and implement corrective actions Ensure alignment and consistency across all locations Cross-Functional Coordination Act as the central point of coordination for quality-related activities across all processing areas Drive timely resolution of issues, ensuring clear ownership and follow-through Translate quality and compliance requirements into actionable plans across teams Reinforce accountability for quality outcomes across the organization Escalation & Risk Management Own day-to-day escalation process for quality and compliance issues Ensure risks are identified, prioritized, and addressed appropriately Support structured, risk-based decision-making Provide clear recommendations and visibility to leadership Continuous Improvement & System Maturity Drive ongoing improvement of quality and compliance processes Build a proactive approach to risk identification and prevention Ensure systems and processes scale with business growth and complexity Promote consistency, discipline, and accountability across the function
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred or equivalent combination of related education, experience, and training will be considered.
Experience:
7+ years in quality, manufacturing, or supply chain environments 3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role Experience building or scaling quality and/or compliance programs strongly preferred Technical Skills Strong understanding of quality operations, supplier quality, and inspection processes Experience with compliance programs, certifications, and audit readiness (UL, ASTM, NFPA, ISO, or similar) Experience developing SOPs, manuals, and controlled documentation systems Familiarity with AQL, defect tracking, and quality reporting systems Ability to translate regulatory requirements into operational processes Leadership & Soft Skills Hands-on leader who can operate tactically while building for the future Strong organizational and execution skills Ability to create structure in ambiguous or developing environments Effective communicator who can drive alignment and accountability Practical, solutions-oriented mindset Work Environment This role operates in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment requiring strong collaboration, organization, and attention to detail. The position involves regular interaction with Operations, Supply Chain, Product Development, Compliance, and Leadership teams to drive consistent execution of quality and compliance initiatives across multiple locations. The role requires the ability to manage competing priorities, respond quickly to quality and compliance issues, and maintain a high level of accountability and professionalism in a dynamic growth-oriented environment. Physical demands include extended periods of sitting and computer work, along with regular walking through warehouse, production, and processing areas to support inspections, audits, investigations, and team engagement. The role may require occasional lifting of files, samples, or products up to 25 pounds, as well as periodic travel between facilities, supplier locations, or testing/certification partners as needed.
