Job Description

About This Role Reporting to the Director of the Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA), this position will lead the office's federal, Title IV, student aid compliance efforts. The university delivers in excess of $ 120M in various forms of federal aid on an annual basis. The position is responsible for authoring updates to and otherwise maintaining the office's Policy and Procedures Manual. In addition to the PPM, the position identifies new and/or modifications to processing business practices to address exiting and/or emerging compliance challenges. The incumbent also informs, assists, and collaborates with other university offices to ensure that desired administrative capability standards, as set out in the Program Participation Agreement (PPA) between K-State and the U.S. Department of Education, are met. In addition to its primary compliance component, the position also actively contributes to day-to-day student aid processing obligations. The position is charged with performing all needed system set so that the office's automated financial offer process is executed in a timely and accurate manner throughout a given aid year. The position supervises and actively assists a full time staff member in successfully meeting all compliance obligations associated with the return of federal student funds to the Department as the result of student aid recipient withdrawals from the university. (Commonly referred to as Return of Title VI (R2T4) calculations.). On an ongoing basis the position extracts and compiles student aid data in fulfillment of regularly scheduled and ad hoc federal, state, and institutional data reports such as the Fiscal Operations Report and Application to Participate (FISAP). Finally, the position follows University scholarship and financial aid policies and adheres to professional and ethical standards established by relevant professional organizations, such as the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) and the National Association of Student financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA). Worksite Description This position is Hybrid eligible . All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho. What You'll Need to
Succeed Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and nine years of relevant experience. Requirements may be met through a combination of work experience and education.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree 3 or more years of robust experience applying complex regulations to business practices/procedures. Work experience in authoring and maintaining policy/procedure manuals and providing training on the resulting business practices. 3 or more years, full-time employment within an Office of Student Financial Assistance with progressive responsibilities and oversight of one or more major financial aid programs. Past, full-time work interpreting complex regulatory language and/or authoring/maintaining administrative policy/procedures manuals. Working experience with a student information system such as Oracle/PeopleSoft, Banner, etc. Robust experience in extracting and compiling data for ad hoc reporting.
