//www.esc5.net/page/human-resources Why This Role Matters You will lead the district's AI governance, cybersecurity compliance, and digital‑accessibility programs, protecting the privacy of Region 5 students and teachers while enabling innovative learning tools. Key Responsibilities

  • AI Governance & Risk
  • Serve as the designated AI Risk Manager; maintain the AI inventory, conduct Heightened Scrutiny AI (HSAI) determinations, perform risk assessments, enforce the DIR Code of Ethics, and approve all AI deployments.
  • Compliance, Training & Data Privacy
  • Deliver technology onboarding and internal training, manage annual phishing and security‑awareness programs, track completion rates, oversee the data‑classification program, maintain PII/SPI privacy standards, and coordinate breach‑response procedures.
  • E‑Rate, Vendor & Accessibility Management
  • Facilitate E‑Rate Category 1 & 2 submissions (vendor quoting, compliance documentation, form filings, USAC communication), review technology vendor contracts for privacy/AI/data‑ownership terms, and establish/monitor ADA digital‑accessibility standards while training content owners on accessible design principles.
  • Oversight, Reporting & District Consulting
  • Assemble biennial Information Security Plan submissions, lead quarterly IT steering‑committee meetings, report compliance posture to leadership, and provide training, consulting, and guidance on AI risk, TCF compliance, and IT resource management to Region 5 districts. Qualifications What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in IT/MIS, or related field OR 3-5+ years in technology risk, compliance, data privacy, and training delivery. AND
  • Knowledge of the following:
NIST CSF, NIST AI

RMF, Texas Cybersecurity Framework, 1 TAC Ch. 219, FERPA, and CIPA.

  • Strong project‑management skills and experience with E‑Rate USAC processes.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder‑management, and analytical skills. Preferred Credentials
  • CISA / Associate Google Workspace Administrator or equivalent / AI-Governance
  • Experience with Google Workspace, TCF
  • Prior work in a public‑sector educational environment.
