Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Director of Safety and Compliance to lead our organization's safety initiatives and ensure adherence to all regulatory standards across our operations. In this pivotal role, you will develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive safety programs, manage compliance with international trade regulations, and foster a culture of safety excellence. Your expertise will drive risk mitigation strategies, streamline compliance processes, and support our commitment to operational integrity on a global scale. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence safety policies, enhance regulatory adherence, and champion continuous improvement in a fast-paced logistics environment. Duties Lead the development and execution of safety protocols aligned with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards, transportation safety regulations, and industry best practices. Oversee compliance management for all logistics activities, including freight handling, supply chain operations, customs brokerage, and import/export management. Manage regulatory reporting requirements related to FDA regulations, DOT and FMCSA regulations, Customs regulations compliance, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and other international trade laws. Implement risk management strategies to identify potential safety hazards or compliance gaps; develop corrective action plans accordingly. Supervise customs clearance management processes ensuring adherence to customs regulations and global trade management software systems. Conduct regular audits of logistics compliance activities, including transportation management, fleet management, and export/import procedures. Prepare detailed reports on safety incidents, compliance status, audit findings, and risk assessments for senior leadership review. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure ongoing training on safety standards, regulatory updates, and technical proficiency in logistics software tools. Requirements Proven experience in logistics or supply chain management with a strong focus on safety and regulatory compliance. Extensive knowledge of OSHA standards, DOT and FMCSA regulations, FDA regulations, customs brokerage management, and international trade laws, transportation safety guidelines. Demonstrated ability to manage complex compliance programs across multiple jurisdictions with a focus on trade compliance, DOT compliance and export/import procedures.
