Commensurate with experience Organizational Overview Good Neighbor Settlement House is a nonprofit organization committed to fostering a thriving, compassionate community in Brownsville and the surrounding areas. We provide essential services, including food assistance, shelter, health navigation, and support programs for individuals and families experiencing hardship. Our mission is grounded in dignity, equity, and justice. Position Overview The Compliance and Grants Manager will play a key role in supporting the organization's sustainability and integrity by overseeing grants management, ensuring regulatory and contract compliance, and supporting the finance team in reporting and tracking. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, mission-driven professional with a passion for supporting impactful community work through strong systems and accountability. Primary Duties and Key ResponsibilitiesGrants Management & Compliance
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of grants: research, application, reporting, renewal, and close-out.
  • Maintain a comprehensive grants calendar and ensure timely submission of proposals and reports.
  • Work with program staff to collect required data and outcomes for reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and private grant requirements.
  • Develop and maintain internal systems and tools for tracking grant deliverables and deadlines.
  • Assist with program audits and monitor grant-funded projects for adherence to budgets and objectives. Organizational Compliance
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations relevant to nonprofit operations.
  • Assist in developing and updating organizational policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate staff training and document retention for compliance-related topics.
  • Support risk management and organizational assessments as needed. Finance & Accounting Support
  • Work closely with the Finance Director to ensure financial reporting for grants aligns with funder requirements.
  • Track restricted funds and expenditures across multiple funding streams.
  • Assist with budget preparation for grant proposals and renewals.
  • Support in preparing documentation for audits and financial reviews.
  • Provide general administrative and reconciliation support to the finance department. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Accounting, Nonprofit Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in nonprofit grants management, compliance, or related fields.
  • Working knowledge of grant-funding regulations and nonprofit financial practices.
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and grant-management tools preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
