Job Description
Job Overview Humboldt, a crude oil trucking company operating throughout Utah and the Mountain West, is seeking an experienced Controller to join our team in Roosevelt, UT. About the Role The Controller will oversee the company's accounting operations and ERP system, and support banking relationships, compliance, and financing needs — ensuring accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls as we continue to grow across Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and Colorado. Responsibilities Oversee month-end and year-end close processes Supervise and coordinate with payroll, AP, and AR staff to ensure accuracy and timeliness Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports for leadership Oversee and continue to develop the company's ERP system, including process improvements and system optimization Support banking relationships, including covenant compliance, reporting requirements, and bank communications Assist with financing needs — lines of credit, equipment financing, and loan compliance/reporting Maintain and improve accounting systems, including Sage Intacct Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management Coordinate with external auditors, lenders, and tax preparers as needed Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations to ownership/leadership Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required 5+ years of progressive accounting/controller experience Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct required Experience managing and optimizing ERP systems Experience with bank relationships, covenant compliance, and financing arrangements Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards Experience in trucking, transportation, or logistics industry a plus Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Pay:
$95,000.00 - $125,000.00 per yearBenefits:
