Job Description
JOB Under general supervision, serves as the District expert and project lead for National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) processes; directs compliance management activities, including policy development, control implementation, and ongoing monitoring, to meet all legal and regulatory obligations; provides guidance, directs activities, and sets procedural expectations for department staff regarding administrative practices and program compliance; analyzes existing and proposed environmental regulations affecting water and energy operations and infrastructure; collaborates with technical subject matter experts (SME) in developing and monitoring compliance of operational and environmental regulatory compliance programs; oversees the work performed by consultants and technical specialists and the promotion of district policies, programs and initiatives through liaison, communication, coordination and interaction with federal, state and regional governmental agencies. Performs other duties as assigned.
Progressively responsible directly related experience may be substituted for the required education at the ratio of two years of experience for one year of education required directly related experience in management of NEPA and CEQA processes, or leadership experience implementing complex projects, that involve integrating NEPA and CEQA compliance into broader project management objective.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
