Full Job Description Position Overview :
The Compliance Coordinator will oversee and ensure the dental group adheres to all relevant regulatory, legal, and ethical standards within the healthcare industry. This role involves monitoring, updating, and implementing compliance policies, conducting audits, and ensuring the organization's operations align with state, federal, and local regulations. The Compliance Coordinator serves as a key resource for staff training, policy clarification, and risk management, ensuring the dental group remains compliant in all clinical and administrative operations.
Compensation:
$18-20/ hr DOE Medical and Dental Benefits 401k
Cal Savers Key Responsibilities :
Regulatory Compliance :
Ensure the dental group complies with all federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., OSHA, HIPAA, ADA). Keep up-to-date with new and changing regulations affecting dental practices. Prepare, update, and maintain all compliance documentation, reports, and procedures.
Audit and Monitoring :
Conduct internal audits of clinical operations, billing practices, patient documentation, and other key compliance areas. Track and monitor compliance metrics, identifying areas for improvement. Assist with external audits and inspections conducted by regulatory agencies.
Policy Development :
Develop, implement, and update internal compliance policies and procedures. Ensure that all employees understand and adhere to these policies through regular communication and training.
Training & Education :
Conduct regular training sessions for staff on compliance topics, including patient privacy (HIPAA), safety regulations (OSHA), and infection control. Serve as a resource for compliance-related questions and concerns.
Risk Management :
Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, and develop corrective action plans. Ensure patient safety protocols and infection control practices are implemented and adhered to. Assist in managing any compliance-related incidents, including reporting and corrective actions.
Communication :
Act as the liaison between the dental group and regulatory authorities. Maintain open lines of communication with all departments to ensure compliance is embedded across operations. Report any significant compliance issues to the Compliance Manager or upper management.
Qualifications :
2+ years of experience in a compliance role, preferably within the healthcare or dental field. Knowledge of regulatory standards and healthcare compliance (HIPAA, OSHA, etc.). Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and compliance management software.
Preferred Skills :
Familiarity with dental industry standards and best practices. Experience conducting audits and managing compliance-related projects. Open Dental•
