Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Clery Act Compliance Specialist serves as the primary institutional official responsible for ensuring compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act. This role collaborates across multiple departments at Loma Linda University Health to maintain adherence to Clery Act regulations and promote campus safety and transparency. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, or related field required. Master's Degree in Education Law, Criminal Justice, Policy, or Administration preferred. Minimum one year of higher education experience with Clery Act or Title IX compliance preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
Able to read, write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). In-depth knowledge of public administration and Clery Act regulations. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and related software. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, interpret and apply complex regulations, and maintain effective interdepartmental relationships. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills. Meticulous attention to detail in documentation and reporting. Familiarity with data privacy laws, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and their application to Clery Act reporting.
Licensures and Certifications:
Completion of advanced Clery Act training and attainment of the National Association of Clery Compliance Officers & Professionals (NACCOP) Clery Compliance Officer Certification preferred.
