Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Compliance Coordinator to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will oversee and ensure adherence to healthcare regulations, industry standards, and internal policies. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our operations, safeguard patient information, and promote a culture of compliance excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence organizational integrity while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is energetic, meticulous, and passionate about maintaining high standards of compliance within healthcare settings. Duties Monitor and enforce compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations to protect patient privacy and data security. Review medical coding practices, including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9 (International Classification of Diseases, Ninth Revision), ICD-10, and ICD coding systems, ensuring accurate documentation for billing and reporting. Ensure adherence to Medicare guidelines and other federal healthcare programs' requirements for billing and documentation accuracy. Conduct regular audits of clinical records to verify compliance with FDA (Food and Drug Administration) regulations and JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations) standards. Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance management programs that align with industry best practices. Collaborate with clinical staff to provide training on regulatory updates, coding procedures, and compliance protocols. Investigate potential compliance issues or violations promptly, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions as needed. Experience Proven experience in healthcare compliance management or related roles within medical or clinical settings. Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems, Medicare policies, FDA regulations, and JCAHO accreditation standards. Demonstrated ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into actionable procedures. Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills for conducting audits and reviews. Effective communication skills to train staff and collaborate across departments.
