Compliance Manager Position Summary The Compliance / Paralegal Coordinator supports the organization's legal and regulatory compliance functions by managing documentation, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, and assisting with legal processes. This role bridges legal, HR, and operations to maintain compliance standards, mitigate risk, and support internal audits and reporting. Key ResponsibilitiesCompliance & Regulatory Support Monitor and track compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., labor laws, licensing, safety standards) Maintain compliance calendars, filings, and reporting deadlines Assist with internal audits, risk assessments, and corrective action plans Update and maintain company policies, SOPs, and compliance documentation Support investigations related to compliance issues or employee concerns Paralegal & Legal Coordination Draft, review, and organize legal documents (contracts, NDAs, agreements, policies) Maintain legal files, corporate records, and document management systems Coordinate with outside counsel and internal stakeholders Assist with litigation support, discovery, and document requests Conduct basic legal research as needed Cross-Functional Support Partner with HR on employment compliance (I-9s, wage & hour, employee relations documentation) Assist Operations with licensing, permits, and regulatory requirements Support training initiatives related to compliance and legal standards Track and report compliance metrics and KPIs QualificationsRequired 3-5+ years of experience in compliance, legal support, or paralegal role Strong knowledge of California labor laws and regulatory environment Excellent organizational and document management skills High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Preferred Paralegal Certificate (ABA-approved preferred) Experience in highly regulated industries (e.g., manufacturing, cannabis/hemp, healthcare, finance) Experience with AI Platforms (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) Experience with compliance software or document management systems Bilingual (Spanish) a plus Core Competencies Analytical thinking & problem-solving Discretion & confidentiality Strong written and verbal communication Time management & ability to meet deadlines Collaboration across departmentsPay:
