Job Description

HireArt is helping our client find a detail-oriented People Compliance Specialist - Compliance & Systems to support employment compliance initiatives and HR systems administration. In this role, you'll partner closely with the People team to support I-9 compliance efforts, immigration record management, and Workday data administration. Your work will help ensure employee records remain accurate, compliant, and audit-ready. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing sensitive information in a fast-paced, process-driven environment. As a People Compliance Specialist - Compliance & Systems, you'll: Support I-9 audit and compliance activities by reviewing records, identifying discrepancies, and coordinating corrective actions in accordance with federal requirements. Maintain and organize immigration-related records, including visa documentation, work authorization records, and expiration tracking. Partner with immigration counsel and external vendors to ensure employee records are accurate, complete, and up to date. Execute data uploads and updates in Workday, including employee records, onboarding information, and job changes. Document, maintain, and follow standard operating procedures for compliance-sensitive processes. Assist with compliance reporting, audit preparation, and ongoing record management initiatives. Support data accuracy and integrity across People Operations systems and processes. 2+ years of experience in People Operations, HR Operations, or a compliance-focused HR role Hands-on experience with I-9 administration and familiarity with E-Verify Experience managing immigration-related records, including work authorization tracking and visa documentation Experience working in Workday, including data uploads, EIBs, or similar HRIS data management functions Strong attention to detail and ability to work within structured, process-driven environments Ability to handle sensitive and confidential employee information with discretion Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills
Bonus Qualifications:
Experience supporting I-9 audits, compliance reviews, or remediation projects Familiarity with common employment visa categories, including H-1B, OPT/CPT, and TN Experience working with immigration counsel or external immigration service providers Previous experience supporting People Operations in a high-growth or technology-focused organization
