Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive IFTA Filing (Tax Agent) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and submitting International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) filings, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Your expertise will support our transportation and logistics operations by accurately preparing tax reports, analyzing financial data, and maintaining thorough records. This position offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your tax experience, accounting skills, and regulatory knowledge to contribute to our company's efficient and compliant operations. Responsibilities Prepare and file IFTA reports accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations Review fuel purchase records, mileage logs, and related financial data for correctness and completeness Reconcile accounts related to fuel taxes, ensuring consistency across all financial statements and reports Maintain detailed documentation of filings, supporting schedules, and audit trails for regulatory review Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary data, resolve discrepancies, and improve reporting processes Stay updated on changes in fuel tax laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance Assist with other tax-related tasks such as corporate accounting, regulatory reporting, and financial analysis as needed Experience Proven experience in tax accounting or regulatory reporting within the transportation or logistics industry Strong understanding of IFTA regulations, fuel tax laws, and compliance procedures Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping and balance sheet reconciliation Experience with financial report writing, interpretation of financial statements, and account reconciliation processes Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data with attention to detail and accuracy Prior work in public accounting or corporate accounting environments is highly desirable Join us if you're passionate about ensuring regulatory compliance through meticulous financial analysis and reporting!
