Job Description
Job Description This contractor will support an internal Payroll Tax & Compliance team by managing employee and tax agency inquiries, creating and tracking cases, handling incoming mail and documentation, and assisting with payroll tax audits, W-2 reviews, and compliance-related activities. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proficient in Excel, and has prior experience working with payroll, tax, or employee-related records in a fast-paced, administrative environment. - Manage the Tax & Compliance team inbox and incoming mail, including employee inquiries, tax agency notices, and other payroll-related correspondence.
- Create, document, and track cases within internal systems for employee and tax compliance issues.
- Review payroll updates, tax withholding changes, and employee records for accuracy.
- Support W-2 reviews, audits, corrections, and payroll tax compliance activities.
- Research tax and compliance issues and assist with payroll amendments and corrections when needed.
- Process and route incoming paper mail, including tax notices, unemployment rate notices, risk-related documents, and checks requiring further handling.
- Utilize Excel and reporting tools to support audits, tracking, and internal reporting requests.
- Partner with the Payroll Tax & Compliance team to ensure issues are resolved accurately and timely.
- Manage a high-volume workload, including approximately 100 emails and significant mail volume each week, with increases during peak tax periods.

- Experience working with W-2s, 401(k)s, payroll records, tax forms, or employee data.
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
- Highly organized, administrative-minded, and comfortable managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Someone who is proactive, dependable, willing to learn, and looking for a long-term opportunity with growth potential.
